Mobilization Coverage

The Community is Behind Us!!!!

This past week of mobilization was a very active one for the workers at WKBW-TV Channel 7,  who have been working without a contract since January 31st.  Our first stop was at the "Paddock Chevrolet Antique Car Show." Within an hour of arrival, we past out well over 100 handouts and answer questions from the concerned public.  Many concerned people promised to write Bill Ransom and tell him their feelings.

Our next stop was the two day "Taste of Buffalo" event.  Our NABET soldiers hit the WNY battlefield hoping to win a victory in the long struggle against the evil channel 7 "Empire."  A small band of commandoes attacked the "Taste of Buffalo" with leaflets and "Turn Off 7" bags.  It was a difficult assignment because Mother Nature whipped up a wild storm just as our guys started their work.  Crowds of people went scrambling for cover, rain came pouring down in buckets, and winds sucked debris high into the air.  For the next two hours, sheets of rain pelted downtown.  Nevertheless, our guys and some of their family members persevered to hand out a huge amount of bags and many leaflets. As surprising as it may seem, at one point, it seemed like everywhere you looked there was a "Turn Off 7 News" bag.

AIR NABET made its flight around downtown and a LOT of people noticed!  The workers fighting for their jobs where inundated with questions about what was going on.  It's too bad our owners aren't as nice as the people of Buffalo.  So many people promised to write and call the station.  One man dialed and left a voice mail to Bill Ransom before leaving us. Buffalo is Great!!!
